My insurance career began in 2000 when I opened the doors of Ramer Family Insurance as a “scratch” agency with Farmers Insurance Group. In 2005 my wife and I purchased Black Insurance Agency, which after 19 years of leadership under Tony Black had become a leading agency in the local insurance industry. We maintain offices in Albion and Kendallville and employ a team of five full-time account executives. I am honored to carry the distinction of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) which proves my dedication to continue my study of the insurance industry.
I married Heidi in 2001 and we reside in Kendallville with our two children, Jordan and Caleb. I am a proud graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in secondary education and an avid Jayhawks basketball fan. I am a very active member of our community and as a business owner support many of our local non-profit agencies. I am a member and on the Advisory Team at Pinehills Kendallville Church, a past president and current member of the Albion Rotary Club, past board chair and current finance committee member of the Cole Center Family YMCA, past board chair and member of the Noble County Community Foundation, current board member for the Rangers Soccer Academy, current member of the Noble County Promise Committee, current member of the Kendallville Patriotic Pops Committee, and recipient of KPC Media Group’s “40 Under 40” award class of 2012. I enjoy Indianapolis Colts football, Kansas Jayhawk basketball, swimming, biking, running, summers on Sylvan Lake and spending time with friends and family.
